57 Chevy BelAir
Owner: David Beard
.JPG)
This 57 arrived at the shop with an older
basically stock restoration and a healthy but stock 350 engine and trans.
Owner David Beard was interested in upgrades to make the car handle, stop and
perform like a modern car and to give it some hot rod attitude. With
future plans of a frame off restoration, the immediate goal was to get the
mechanical aspects completed so that the car can be enjoyed in it's current
state.
Here are some of the work performed at HRD
- Wilwood 4 wheel disc brakes with 12.19"
drilled / slotted rotors
- Power brake conversion with modified
booster brackets to fit flush against firewall.
- Heidt's narrowed tubular control arms
- Adjustable coilovers
- Front and rear anti-roll bars
- 2" drop spindles
- Rack and pinion power steering
- Ceramic coated headers
- 2.5" Flowmaster exhaust
- 18" Foose wheels chrome
- New 9" Ford rear end with Fab 9 housing,
Moser 31 spline axles, 3.56 gears
